Chocolate covered bananas pops are a classic simple way to make something good, slightly, well guilty! But in our home, we LOVE THEM!! We usually make a batch of them, freeze them and pull them out when we want a slightly less guilty treat.
They are super simple AND QUICK to make.
You’ll want to chop your bananas into bite size pieces. This will make for easy dipping into the chocolate and kid size popsicles.
Then push your sticks into the center. Make sure to be delicate because the banana may fall apart. If it does, just eat it right there, no wasting allowed!! Place them in the freezer for about 30 minutes.
I grabbed a bag of wilton chocolate from WalMart and melt them, in 30 second increments in the microwave. I also added a smidgen of shortening to make the chocolate thinner. You can actually see the shortening in this picture, it’s not completely mixed yet and is represented in the white streaks.
Pull your frozen bananas out of the freezer, dip and let dry! If you want to decorate, go for it, but they are good just like that.
This is one recipe we repeat often!
Wanna bite?
- 1 banana
- ½ cup of chocolate for dipping
- 1 tsp of shortening
- Slice your bananas into bite size pieces
- Push popsicle sticks into banana pieces
- Freeze the bananas for 30 minutes
- Melt your chocolate and add a little bit of shortening to thin
- Dip bananas and let dry
- Decorate if desired.
It’s not that good. You would be better off going to a super maekrt and purchase one of those cake mixes (Duncan Hines, Betty Crocker) They have been around a long time and it works. You would be surprised how many cake makers use mix.
Omg what an excellent idea. I think i shall try these this weekend
Hope you liked them!!
I am making these right now:) My family loves chocolate covered bananas. Reminds us of the beaches in CA. They have frozen banana stands everywhere!
How did they turn out!?
