Is it possible to create and have a slightly sweet treat that is also good for you? It’s something that I have been on a mission to try and find out. I want something that will satisfy the desire for the sweet but bring along some nutritional value as well. It needs to have some protein, to keep my hunger at bay and help give me energy to get through my day.
Almond butter, raw almonds, dried coconut, cashews, this is basically a delish protein bar. Its a bar that I can read all the ingredients, I know that the several different kinds of nuts are going to provide long lasting energy for me. It’s going to keep my hunger at bay without weighing me down. Sending these to school with Hannah is a no brainer and I know that this “dessert” is going to go a long way to keeping her focused in the afternoon. It’s sweet, but not to sweet, so I don’t worry about her bouncing off the walls.
I love it when I can cut into a bar and I can literally see every ingredient that went into making it. I know exactly what I am putting into my body.
What’s even more awesome is that all, and I do mean all of these ingredients are available at you local CVS. Check out their grocery section the next time you hop in to get a script filled. You will find many healthy satisfying snacks, plus you can pick up all the ingredients to make these protein bars.
