We love crockpot meals.  Honestly, throw in the right ingredients and let it cook slowly and you come home to an amazing dinner.  This meal was truly a welcomed shackup to our weekly routine.  Its, Crockpot Mongolian beef and who would have ever thought you could make it in a slow cooker!  It really came out delicious.  The flavor really developed and made it a meal that we each again and again.  If you love to order Mongolian Beef in a restaurant, try this crock pot recipe on for size, I think you’ll be surprised!!

Mmmm, Mongolian Beef, succulent pieces of beef that melt in your mouth, yes this recipe will do just that.

Ingredients
  • 2 teaspoons canola oil
  • ½ teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • ½-1 cup soy sauce (1/2 cup per pound)
  • ½-1 cup water (1/2 cup per pound)
  • ¾-1 cup dark brown sugar (3/4 cup for ½ pound or 1 cup for 2)
  • 1-2 lb of stir fry ready beef
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 2 large green onions, chopped

Instructions
  1. Coat your flank steak with cornstarch and let rest
  2. Take the back of your knife and peel your piece of ginger and mince
  3. Turn Crock on High
  4. Mince Garlic and add into crock along with chopped green onion and ginger ( I used more garlic, than stated, use as much or as little as you want)
  5. Add in soy sauce, water, sugar, and oil
  6. Stir to combine
  7. Add in stir fry beef
  8. Let cook on high for 2-3 hours or until tender.

This recipe was definitely a family favorite that we will be doing again. It is a great way to get a great take meal done at home for 1/2 the cost for the whole family!

  3. Did you use just brown sugar (I noticed in the photo it’s light brown sugar) or dark brown sugar? Also, did you add chilli flakes? It looks like it in one of the photos. This looks delicious, I can’t wait to try it.
