Let me explain something to you. If you have ever wondered how to make deep fried Oreos, this post is for you! I was in the mood to experiment and well I thought, what better than to fry something right?! I saw a opened package of Oreos in the pantry, right next to some Bisquick and then it hit me. YUMMY YUMMY! How can you make an Oreo cookie better….you fry it! For those of you that are on a diet, just don’t read any further! These were so good, and I only fried about 12 of them because, well, I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to stop eating!!
It was amazing. It was like almost like an Oreo pancake. The Oreo cookie itself was just a little softer, but still had it’s crunch. The Bisquick was great and really set off the entire bite. So how do you fry them?!
The process is pretty simple. Mix up your Bisquick into a bowl and make sure it’s a good smooth consistency. Heat up your oil. I use the smallest pot I have and fill it half way up with oil. I then turn the burner on medium high and let the oil get hot. The best trick I know of to see if your oil is ready, stick a wooden spoon into the oil. If little bubbles come off the spoon, the oil’s ready. Now just dredge the Oreo in the batter. Your fingers are going to get dirty, deal with it. The result is well worth it. Drop the cookies into the oil, and let them fry for about 60-90 seconds on each side. The process is quick! Then using a metal spoon or fork, rotate the cookie in the oil. Make sure to have paper towels ready, when the cookie is thoroughly browned, place on the paper towel and let cool. Drizzle some chocolate on top and serve warm if possible.
These can’t be eaten every day, but are a great treat once in a blue moon! Enjoy!
