It’s out, not secret anymore: I love steak. I have tried many different cuts of steak, and prepared it many different ways. But I keep coming back to the best and that is steak from the Certified Angus Beef Brand. We are a busy family and on weeknights, I really want to be able to prepare and provide restaurant quality meals at home, because I like to know exactly what goes into our meals. However I don’t want it to take a lot of time to prepare. That’s why I often will include Certified Angus Beef Strip Steaks.
I wanted to make them in a way that was quick and simply seasoned but had lots of flavor. I just wanted to let the meat shine. I love cooking on the grill, for several reasons but primarily I get to cook outside and the TASTE! I think the grill just adds so much to food. It takes something that is already going to taste great and really just elevates it to another tasting plane. I knew that was the route for these strip steaks. I decided that I would do some research on the Certified Angus Beef website and got an idea for a dry rub. I decided on a three pepper spice rub inspired by this recipe.
I knew that this would be the perfect inspiration for these steaks. I decided that I would make some quick sides and we would have a tasty meal on our hands. I am confident serving Certified Angus beef to my family because I know the beef has met the following qualities to be called Certified Angus Beef:
When you see Certified Angus Beef ® brand logo, beef has met 10 standards for premium quality, including abundant marbling.
Marbling is the little white flecks within the red meat. These melt during cooking, basting beef from the inside out for mouthwatering flavor and juiciness.
When you serve the Certified Angus Beef ® brand, you are serving them the best. The brand is a cut above USDA Prime, Choice and Select grades.
I also know that bite for bite that the steaks are packed with protein and nutrients our bodies need! Nutrients like Zinc, Iron, Protein, and B Vitamins to keep the body fueled and running! There are 29 cuts of beef that are lean just look for “round”or “loin” in the name. You can feel confident in the nutrition of Certified Angus Beef.
4 Certified Angus Strip Steaks
1tbs of kosher salt
1 tsp of cayenne pepper
1 tsp of red pepper flakes
1 tsp of black pepper
1 tsp of garlic powder
1 tsp of onion powder
Combine all spices together in a bowl. If you have a mortar and pestle you could put it in there and muddle the spices together. If not just take the back of the spoon and press the spices together a few times just to release the oils of all the pepper and marry things together a bit. Place desired amount of spice over the steaks. You can use all of this rub or the amount of your choosing. Allow them to marinate 1-2 hrs. Take them out of the fridge 30 min before they are to go on the grill. Place them on a hot grill at an angle and cook until desired doneness. About 4 minutes per side over medium high, turning once for medium rare.
I hope you try Certified Angus Beef Brand! Make sure to connect with them!
