I’m proud to partner with CVS/pharmacy for the “Make It a Healthier Summer” campaign. I am being sponsored by CVS/pharmacy for my posts and activities, but all opinions expressed are my own, and all product claims or program details shared should be verified at CVS.com or with the appropriate manufacturers.
I think Summer can be the hardest time for parents and kids. We as parents want to keep our kids engaged and doing activities but I think by in large we get out of our routines and kids begin to get bored. I mean really bored. Also you begin to understand how much food your child(ren) consume on a daily basis. I have worked hard to try and instill in Hannah good eating habits. For the most part she does really well and likes all kinds of fruits and vegetables. But I think what we miss most in the house at times is something crunchy.
I have been a CVS customer for years. I get my medicine filled there, and I like that they have nationwide stores so if we are across the country visiting family I can still get access to my medicines and get advice from a Pharmacist I trust. In the last few years I have seen more and more CVS stores pop up with expanded grocery sections. I have discovered the different all-natural selections of items they have. At first I began a double take, organic, all-natural food items at CVS? But my eyes were not deceiving me and they just keep expanding their product availability.
I recently had the opportunity to try the Banana Crisps. I picked up the Gold Emblem abound product and was impressed that it was free from artificial preservatives and flavors. But what I was most impressed with was the ingredient list. Get ready for it, only one, freeze dried bananas. What?!?!?!? Nothing else, no added sugar, no added chemicals, just freeze dried, crispy bananas. Could this kick my daughter desire to have a crunchy snack when she is tired of eating raw carrots? I decided that I would give it a try. I opened the bag and immediately I was hit with the aroma of bananas. Not the fake banana smell but real bananas. I picked one out of the bag and popped it into my mouth and I was met with a crispity crunch. I was off to test them out on Hannah.
When I presented them to Hannah she was eager to try them as bananas are one of her very favorite fruits to eat! She popped one in her mouth and it was love at first crunch! CVS and Gold Emblem abound had not disappointed me, or her. I was a happy Dad that I could give Hannah a snack that was crunchy yet still very good for her. Head to CVS and give Gold Emblem abound products a try!
