I’ve got a five year old, and trust me, she’s like her dad. We both love ice cream. I came home from work and she asked out of the blue, ‘let’s make a Sundae daddy!’ Now first, she’s five, so I first inquired (to make sure we were on the same page) what a sundae even was. She explained in detail that it had cookies, and toppings and sprinkles and whipped cream and lots and lots of ice cream. Whipped cream is popular with this. I make it with nitrous oxide cream chargers (like the isi cream charger) and a cream dispenser. You can buy whipped cream chargers on Speed Whip.
If you don’t have this already you can purchase and have it delivered from a range of websites such as the Cream Charger Warehouse. This equipment makes whipping cream very quick and almost impossible to mess up. You can get whip cream chargers delivery here. If you need more ice cream flavor inspirations, you may look for an ice cream truck and try their products. And if you have an ice cream business, you may consider outsourcing your dairy products from a Dairy Product Supplier.
I smiled; someone must have seen a commercial on Nick Jr. I looked at my wife and she said, just ONE gallon, I said okay and knew I’d be getting two. Hannah and I love shopping together, whether it’s after work or on Saturday, she knows that dad will let her get the treat cereal and other special treats SHE wants. Today is no different, we stopped by the ice cream aisle in Walmart and she picked out Cookies and Cream from Blue Bunny. I was going to grab vanilla too, but as soon as I reach, I heard my daughter say loudly, so everyone in the entire store could hear, ‘Mommy said only ONE ice cream daddy.’
Just great. Now I have to hide it from TWO women. I explained that we were going to make ice cream cookies and that we absolutely needed vanilla.
I like to do sundaes right. It’s hot outside and summer is not letting up. After I mow the lawn or work in the garden, settling into a chair and eating a delicious sundae is my kind of evening. Today, we are making cookies and cream cookies with Blue Bunny Ice Cream, topped with a super simply homemade whipped cream and chocolate caramel topping. Sounds good?
It was DELICIOUS.
I made homemade ice cream chocolate chip cookies. They are so moist, sweet and probably my favorite variation of cookie. We also made a double chocolate and peanut butter (recipes below) with ice cream. The whole purpose: my authentic cookies and cream sundae. I purposefully make the cookies small, bake for 7-8 minutes (I prefer crispy cookies in a sundae) and then serve warm.
Here is how you make it: Blue Bunny Ice Cream, then add a small a cookie, then add more ice cream, then add a cookie….get the drift? Then top it with some real whipped cream. All you do is grab some heavy cream, and mix it with a hand or stand mixer until it firms up. Then add a little sugar, stevia or agave and bam, homemade whipped cream.
I drizzled some chocolate and caramel on top, and that’s one sundae I’m not going to forget. Amazing, cool and perfect for a warm summer afternoon.
I love quality ice cream, it truly makes to good Sundae GREAT. Blue Bunny is incredible and is something I grab at Walmart every time my wife lets me.

You think 2 women are bad… my poor husband has to deal with 4 of us. What is it with men and their ice cream? My husband is always suggesting we go get ice cream. And who are we to disagree? #client
