I received something of value from Feld Entertainment as part of their Insider Program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
My wife is a total Disney princess at heart. She cannot wait for the latest and greatest princess movies to come out and she has certainly passed that on to our daughter. My wife obsesses about having the perfect princess costume to wear whenever we go to Disney on Ice. They spend days talking about it, and watching youtube videos they love it. I of course as the good husband and Dad must go right along with it, I smile and I enjoy seeing them so excited.
Lacy and Hannah often play barbies, but Hannah doesn’t have just Barbies, she has Disney princess barbies. So when they play barbies, they are singing all the songs from all the movies. I am not sure who was looking more forward to go to see Disney on Ice Princess and Heroes, Hannah or my wife.
The show opened with Mickey and Minnie coming out and greeting everyone. Followed by one of even my favorite Disney movies, Aladdin. I cannot tell you how impressed I was with the stage set up and the real quality of the skating going on. All the characters really knew their songs and interacted with the crowd well. The Genie of course stole the show.
I was really impressed at the shows ability to properly showcase almost all the Disney princesses and do justice to their story lines. I think one of the most spectacular parts was Sleeping Beauty’s story. The skaters, and costumers were actually able to make Maleficent turn into a dragon that breathed real fire!! I was truly impressed, there was actual fire on the ice and my kids where amazed by the skating, I had to look for the best kid’s skateboards !!
BUT…..THE SHOW STOPPER WAS STILL TO COME…….FROZEN! We saw the whole story played out on the ice, and the whole of the arena erupted in all the songs. I will never forget how the whole audience at the top of their lungs rang out the chorus to Let it Go. It truly is an amazing memory one I won’t soon forget. Ana, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff, Hans, all were amazing and told their story well. I must say that this was the best Disney on Ice show I have been to.
