I’ve had a sweet craving recently and now that we are in the hot muggy days of summer I thought what could be better that cake and ice cream? We are having friends over for a cookout and we’ve got hamburgers & corn on the grill, coleslaw and potato salad but I wanted something DIFFERENT for dessert. I had already grabbed some Dr Pepper for the cookout and looked at my wife and asked if the thought Dr Pepper donuts would taste good? She looked at me and laughed, Dr Pepper makes everything better!
I threw the entire recipe together in 15 minutes, everything was already in my pantry! We have a cute donut pan that are available at most Walmart’s or a craft store and put them in the oven for 10-12 minutes. Literally you can make these and serve them WARM in 20 minutes, pantry to table!
Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a little chocolate sauce and OMG, literally this is incredible. The Dr Pepper flavor is very clear throughout the donut and add the Dr Pepper glaze and it really shines through. This truly is a PERFECT back yard recipe for any camp out.
This recipe makes about 12 donuts easily. If you don’t have a donut pan, you could easily just make the dough into balls and make Dr Pepper donut holes. The glaze will harden completely in about 15 minutes so you can either serve them as is, or with some ice cream.
I’m a Dr Pepper lover. Always have been, always will be. If you love Dr Pepper, try these. Remember to stop by Walmart and pick up Dr Pepper. They have great prices and a great selection as you can see!
I hope you enjoy this Dr Pepper Donut Recipe, our friends loved it and you will too!
