It’s been a wonderful Christmas season. We have laughed, loved, given and received. We have also had lots of family dinners. The time of indulgence has come and now gone. Were you responsible or did you indulge too? I know we indulged quite a bit and we are feeling it. Just feeling a little bit sluggish and on sugar overload. So as the New Year begins and all things are beginning a fresh it’s time to begin a new with a commitment to put good things into our bodies. Fortunately, there is an an ocean of sites online which might give you a fantastic read regarding diets.
As a child one of my favorite memories is making vegetable soup with my Mom. Looking back now I know she made this soup for many reasons. It was a great way to stretch a dollar, it was also delicious and a good way to get veggies into us. It was also super easy, quick and very delicious. But I think more than anything I treasure the time spent and the memories made with her more than anything. She gave me my first knowledge of cooking and showed me what it means to love your family through cooking.
Even now as an adult I still love making this soup. This soup is so versatile and you can change out the veggies for whatever are your family favorites are. I would challenge you to keep in the things like the kale because this soup is so flavorful it can handle a strong vegetable like kale or even spinach. You can add any broth to this soup but I think that Beef works best. It gives you all the flavor of beef while also giving you all the goodness of the veggies. Putting all these veggies into your system is the perfect way to detox your body after the oh-so-indulgent holidays. You can avail a juice cleanse plan if you’re too busy to cook or prepare.
College Inn broths are exceptionally flavorful. It’s really important when you are trying to detox your body or shall we say the dreaded d-word…..diet, to have flavorful foods or let’s be honest you won’t eat it. If it doesn’t taste good we won’t stick to eating it too long. Replacing College Inn Broth with water in your soups or in addition to adds so much flavor! College Inn Broth is delicious because they care about the small details. They make their broth with only the highest quality ingredients, a purposeful blend of veggies and spices, that will give your dishes exceptional flavor.
