Salted Caramel Apple Turnovers
  • 2 sheets of puff pastry thawed
  • 1 medium red and green apples sliced thinly
  • 1 tbs of flour
  • 1 tbs of cinnamon
  • ⅓ cup of sugar
  • ¼ tsp of salt
Salted Caramel sauce
  • ⅓ cup of dark brown sugar
  • ½ cup of half and half
  • ½ stick of butter
  • ¼ tsp of salt
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Unfold puff pastry and use a rolling pin to gently smooth out. cut into 4 squares. Toss together thinly sliced apples and the rest of the ingredients. Add a few thinly sliced apples to each square, making sure you add both red and green apples. Fold in a triangular shape. Place on a sprayed pan and put into the oven for 7-8 minutes or until golden brown. Meanwhile in a saucepan over medium heat put all ingredients for the sauce and allow to melt and marry. Once everything is melted allow to cook for 6 minutes. Take off the heat and allow to cool. Drizzle cooled caramel sauce over cooled or slightly warm turnovers.
