It’s Summer time, well at least it feels like summer here in KY. I know that officially Summer isn’t here until June 21st, but it begins to get hot rather quickly so the pool parties and BBQ’s ensue. I love the prospect of getting together with friends and family. I just seem to get a real jolt of energy out of being around everyone. We tell stories, play games, and make new memories to tell about later on. But its everyone’s responsibility to bring a dish.
Everyone has dishes they consider to be their specialty. So when we get together we have an assortment of dishes that we bring and enjoy. As the food blogger of the family I am usually expected to bring something fabulous and tasty. But I also use this time to bring dishes that I haven’t made before and allow my friends and family to be the guinea pigs.
BBQ’s can be a wonderful time of eating, if not an indulgent one at that. I like to indulge from time-to-time and I know when we all get together there will be a plethora of indulgent dishes to choose from. So in thinking about my next dish and what to bring to an indulgent gathering of food I decided to bring a Garden Greek Pizza.
I decided for this dish I wanted to make something that was tasty, protein loaded and allowed for some vegetable consumption. You know I can remember growing up and at these backyard BBQs would be a bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch, right next to the raw veggies. Or I would watch my Mom mix a packet of hidden valley ranch mix into a container of sour cream for the most delectable dip that caused the veggies tray to disappear very rapidly. So, I wanted to create a recipe that would be slightly healthier than using sour cream, but would retain all that great Hidden Valley Flavor. That’s how the Garden Greek Pizza was born.
I was shopping at Walmart when I happened upon a new Hidden Valley product called Hidden Valley Greek yogurt Dip mix. I was curious to try this and see if it could live up to its counterpart. I grabbed a couple of packets, finished up my shopping and headed on up to checkout. When I returned home I began to put together my Garden Greek Pizza.
I mixed Hidden Valley Greek dip mix in with protein packed Greek yogurt, a small amount of reduced fat cream-cheese and mixed it all together and spread it over naan. Add your favorite veggies for toppings and you have a crowd pleasing, veggie pizza that you can feel great about consuming!
This pizza turned out great. I have to admit I was skeptical at first, I didn’t know if this new greek yogurt mix would stand up to my old favorite dip (Hidden Valley mixed with sour cream). But not only did it meet my flavor expectations, it exceeded them. You will miss nothing with the new Hidden Valley Greek Dip Mix, the flavor, the mouth feel, and even they way it makes veggies disappear. Be sure to download the special Hidden Valley coupon and give the new Hidden Valley Greek Yogurt Dip a try!!!

Wow! It does looks like a garden. A very healthy and well-pampered garden! I love everything that you put in the pizza. And I like the dip mix too. I want this pizza now. It feels like summer with it! 🙂
