This week I made these delicious cherry peach cupcakes with homemade peach icing as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars #WalmartProduce
I love having family, friends over, entertaining them. But I like to switch it up from time to time. I want to keep them guessing on what I will pull out of my hat this time. Now I will be the first to admit that this mentality can be daunting and time consuming when it comes to preparing the food and making it. So when I come up with an idea that can be done easily, I jump on it! So my good friends called and said, “Hey, we are close are you busy?” I just couldn’t in my good Southern Manners turn them away so I say, “Sure, Come on Over!” So then begins the 10-minute speed clean and the appetizer making.
Well, it had been a while since I had been to Walmart, so I was running low on creative food supplies but what I did have were grapes, cream cheese, nuts and prosciutto. The last time I was in Walmart, I saw some amazing looking grapes. Grapes are in season and Walmart’s produce department never disappoints.
So what should I make?! I had two different types of grapes and so in my frantic appetizer making, I decided that I would wash and dry the grapes and then wrap the in the prosciutto, followed by the cream cheese, and finally rolled in crushed nuts. I mean let’s face it, who could resist that combination?!
I grabbed a toothpick and it made a great visual presentation to add extra grapes on top. I wasn’t having many people over, so I knew I could a small amount of these nearly done by the time my company arrived. I finished them in 10 minutes, and chilled them in the fridge and allowed them to harden up a little.
Our friends arrived and of course we enjoyed some delicious grape prosciutto bites! No leftovers! You know you’ve found a hit. It’s a simple fresh appetizer that I can make with fresh grapes from the Walmart produce department! Check out the variety of grapes at Walmart.
- 3-4 grapes per tooth pick (I did 15 toothpicks)
- 2oz of spreadable cream cheese
- 8 pieces of prosciutto or other similar cut in half
- ⅔ cup of crushed nuts of choice
- Put a thin layer of cream cheese on the meat and wrap around grape.
- Then (you will get messy) take your hands and put cream cheese on them and completely cover the prosciutto-covered grape.
- Follow that by rolling in crushed nuts and repeat.
- You can add a few grapes on top or to the bottom. Enjoy!
Those look like a fun appetizer… and delicious! Pinned for sure!
Wow, that’s very intricate. I love the idea of having cream cheese as an ingredient in this. So many ingredients, it’s cool. I’m going to try making these, but I bet you they wont look as good as this. Hopefully mine will taste good though.
Yes, you have to give this recipe a try, it’s perfection. I didn’t think of cream cheese and grapes, but it actually works fairly nicely and it complements each other as well. Or so I think. It’s different and I like different.
These are the recipes I love to try out. I never really tried many different types of food in my life, but this looks like fun to make and even better to eat. Thanks for sharing guys!
Grape prosciutto bites look so good! I never would have thought of something like this teaming up to make something that tastes so good, but I’m always willing to try some new foods and this is clearly new to me.
So much goes into making these, wow! It’s pretty cool that there’s so many ingredients in this, I would have never thought to make something like this. Then again I never experiment with foods these days. Thanks for the awesome recipe. It’s much appreciated.
Grape prosciutto bites sound so delectable and wonderful. So much work goes into making these, it’s like it’s an art form, but with food. Gotta love artistic food.
