I thought I’d share with you how easy it is to make a crockpot sling out of aluminum foil. Why do you need a sling at all? Well, slings come in handy when you need to lift something out of a crockpot and have it stay in one piece. (Meatloaf, cakes, breads etc.) First let me answer a question that you may be wondering about, you absolutely can use aluminum foil in a crockpot or slow cooker. It is not going to hurt the food or the crock pot.
Step One: Lay aluminum foil across the crockpot shown below. The idea is to be able to pull out the food intact, so make sure to use a good amount of foil. You should only need two sheets of heavy duty foil unless the final product is very have and deep.
Lay on piece of foil in the crock and make sure you have enough to pull on. I make sure the foil reaches the top of the crock.
Hello from Germany,

Thank you so much for the tip!
Liners are so expensive and cleaning up a cake baked in the crockpot is a pain!
