I never quite understood her reasoning behind doing that until I became a parent and I had to juggle and balance schedules and work life of a whole entire household. We don’t appreciate wives and moms enough do we? Our worlds would literally fall apart if we didn’t have them.
I am going to admit that I don’t appreciate my wife and all that she does as often as I should. I don’t realize all the day-to-day stuff that she does to keep our lives running smoothly. I love her dearly and appreciate so much everything she does for our family. I get inspired from time-to-time to create something that I know I can make for dinner and that I can give my wife the night off. Shes a wonderful cook and I absolutely love almost everything she makes. Except for that one chicken, pasta crockpot dish, honey, you know the one, sorry. That’s a bit of an inside joke and a story for another time. She has helped to expand my palate in so many ways, bringing her southern flair and love of spicy to all of our foods that we have eaten for the last 15yrs.
Hannah and I were shopping at Walmart getting some items I needed for some new recipes I was trying out and she came out and asked, “Daddy, can we make dinner for Mama tonight?” That about melted my heart right there. I said sure honey and then we began to talk about what she would like to make. We love all things pasta in our house and Hannah asked if we could make the cheesy pasta that we all love. I suggested a few other things that I knew my wife would like and Hannah was adamant about the cheesy pasta. I knew my wife would like the Alfredo, but I wanted to take it a step further and make something different. I finally talked Hannah into making a Carbonara Pizza. Yes, you read that correctly, Carbonara Pizza. #BertolliTuscanTour
I finished my shopping in Walmart, and picked up some Bertolli® , Alfredo Sauce, chicken, bacon, pizza dough, onions, and a few other items, we checked out and we were headed home. I know I can trust Bertolli® to always deliver on quality just as they have been doing the last 150 years! The products are Tuscan inspired as well, which you can smell as you open every bottle. Its their 150 years anniversary, now thats impressive! I called my wife on my way home to make sure that she wasn’t already making dinner, and she was ecstatic when I told her that Hannah and I already had dinner taken care of. Hannah was bouncing all the way home excited to make dinner for Mommy. We arrived and Hannah couldn’t wait to spill the beans to Lacy to tell her what we were gonna make. Lacy gave me a quizzical look but said, okay I will let you two work.
Shopping at Walmart for my ingredients made the recipe super easy to make. I bought Bertolli® Alfredo Pasta sauce, pizza dough that was already made, shredded cheese. All I had to do was cook the bacon, onion, and sauté the chicken and heat the alfredo sauce through in the same pan and dinner was coming together quickly! Hannah was excited to put the whole pizza together. I placed the dough on the cookie sheet and stretched it out to the desired size. A little trick I have learned along the way is to spray my hands when working with dough it helps the dough not to stick to your hands. I ladled the sauce onto the crust. Hannah topped dough and sauce with the cooled chicken and bacon. I cut the tomato slices and arranged them on top of the pizza, then Hannah demanded to put the cheese on there. When we were done we had one tasty looking pie! I preheated the oven to 400 degrees and we waited for the crust to get crispy and the cheesy to get all melty gooey! The pizza was ready in about 20 minutes.
Needless to say this was a hit at our house. My wife couldn’t believe how well this turned out and how tasty it was! I think this may be put on the pizza rotation list! Give this recipe a try and stop at Walmart to pick up some Bertolli® Alfredo Sauce. If you don’t want to spend the time making the carbonara sauce you can always pick up a jar of Bertolli® Carbonara sauce!
