As a Kentuckian, the Kentucky Derby captures our entire state’s attention. While it may be the most exciting two minutes in sports, for us it is part of our identity. We live in Northern Kentucky, miles away from Churchill Downs, but even us ‘almost yankee’s can enjoy some derby pie, mint juleps, and finger foods like the rest of em’.
Many of you know that I work in PR and social media at an agency called Northlich. Being part of an ad agency is never boring, and last week the agency lived up to it’s reputation. My department (public relations) hosted a Derby Day party complete with all the fixin’s you’d expect at party, save the hats.
We set up our table, got a balloon, and focused in on the details. Being in an office setting, we grabbed some mailing stickers and set up a template in Word. We got some cheap shot glasses from the local party store and wanted to ‘brand’ the event. Simple adding stickers to cups, really set it apart. Dare I say we are the kings of party throwing in the office.
If you want to PRINT this design for shot glasses, you’ll need a vinyl cutting machine. You can visit vinylcuttingmachineguide.com for reviews on some of the best ones on the market. It should work for a XYZ LABEL NAME. (I make no assertion or claim of ownership to the Kentucky Derby logo, this is for private use only, of course celebrating/promoting the event.)
Not to mention I brought two delicious homemade recipes that would be perfect for any Kentucky Derby Party:
– BBQ Bourbon Meatballs
– Country Ham & Cheese Biscuits
The food was delicious, the company and conversation was great and of course, everything is better with a mint julep at work. I’m blessed to work with great people that appreciate each other and work hard for the clients we serve. That allows us the occasional Friday to indulge!
