I love nothing more than having company come over. I grew up in a small town where every one knows your name and people pop by most of the time without calling. I miss that sometimes, I have been living in the “big” city for a long time and I miss that aspect of small town life. I get really excited when I get a call that friends and family are popping over for a visit. The only problem with that call….cleaning and food!
I’ve got a four year old and kids make messes. When I get that call I’m in a whirl wind, calling for Hannah to pick up her Barbie’s and stuffed animals that have been listen to her most recent singing concert. My wife is yelling at me to run the vacuum and pick up my clothes.
The next challenge, once you’ve done the 10-minute house cleaning is the 10-minute appetizer. If you’ve got veggies throw them on the table with a dip, but if you’ve got a few more people coming and want to get creative, make SLIDERS. Sliders are an easy app because they can be created quickly and generally don’t have to be heated.
Now being the good southern host I am, I always have to feed anyone who walks into my house….WELL. A few friends and family decided to stop by for game night. With not a lot of prep time, I reached for the Hormel Everyday Scratch. They are an excellent ready-to-go protein that saves me precious time!
I like to socialize and I don’t want to spend all my time in the kitchen cooking and slaving away. As some of my family arrives early (of course) I enlist help. In 10 minutes, I had the salsa prepped (the could take a little longer if you are a slow chopper), the naan sliced and the Hormel Everyday Scratch Starters Chicken & Roast Beef warmed. We just pilled the meat and salsa on the naan and bam…delicious!
We played Catan and Pit and enjoyed a fun evening of laughs and fun. The naan appetizers were demolished…I love not having leftovers, it means everyone loved the food. The meat and salsa paired so well together, the meat was tender and flavorful and the salsa really made the app soar. You must try this, and make sure to pick up Hormel Everyday Scratch Starters. They will make the party prep so much easier without sacrificing flavor and taste.

I have no idea about the taste – but the visual effect is perfect enough.
I love sliders, it’s one of the fastest appetizers to make to get a party started, and while people are eating I can have some more food done before ya know it. I can’t stand the clean up process before a get together, but it must be done, haha! Anyways thanks for the recipe, I’m going to give it a solid try and tell you what I think.
I haven’t made a lot of sliders in my day, but when I do they are fantastic and really add to the party or the event I may or may not be hosting. I haven’t made sliders that look like this though, but I am willing to try. Plus, since it used ingredients from Hormel products, I will be happy to give it a try.
I’ve never had sliders a day in my life. I must say, I must have missed out on a lot of good food then because these naan sliders look really good. So good I will be attempting to make them tonight now. Thank you for sharing!
I’ve never played those games. I totally went to a party once where we were supposed to play Catan but it never happened. You know how that goes when you’re having a good time. 😉 #client
So, I’m going to have to try these sliders. I haven’t had sliders since my mother made them a few years back when I came home for a week. I’ve been wanted to have her famous sliders for a long time now, but maybe this will do me just fine until I can go home for a visit soon. I’ve always tried to make my mother’s sliders, but she does something different and I never knew what it was.
I don’t think I’ve ever had nan sliders, or sliders for that matter. They look really good though so I should give it a try making them. They look easy enough to make too, so that’s even better.
I every time spent my half an hour to read this blog’s content all the time along with a mug of coffee.
