My wife is an amazing woman and she deserves the absolute best for Mother’s Day. Hannah, my 6-year-old is so much like her mother. Caring, thoughtful, kind, sensitive, so when it came time to pick out a few gifts for Mother’s Day like those sweet hampers, for instance, I wanted to make sure to let her help me.
I will admit, I hate shopping. Stores just aren’t for me. Maybe it’s a guy thing, but I don’t like changing rooms and the selection, I always go for the online option. Sears really has stepped up in recent years. They have a fantastic selection, both in-store and through their marketplace. So last week, Hannah and I sat down, and picked a few things out for my wife on Sears.com.
Whether you are uber prepared or wait to the last minute (like I have in the past) Sears has a few really fantastic options. First they have an in-store pickup option. Order your items online, pay, and then drive to your local Sears and they promise that within 5-minutes, you will have your order. The next option is my new favorite option: In-Vehicle pick up. You literally don’t even have to get unbuckled if you don’t want to. You simply park in the designated parking spot, register on the app that you have arrived, and someone will bring out the items. Now this doesn’t work for everything. Jewelry and other items, you will need to do the in-store pickup, but I just LOVE not having to unbuckle my 6-year old. And if you’re looking for medical essentials, there are plenty of options available for purchase online – just do a quick search and you’ll be sure to Get More Info.
I arrived at Sears, checked-in. Got my items and left. Literally I was not in the parking lot for more than 5 minutes. My daughter was none too pleased with this experience. She told me that “this is NOT how mommy shops. She goes in and looks at everythingggggg.” I smiled.(For more information on this seriously cool service, click here: Sears.com/AllForMom)
We picked up a few items for my wife, and Hannah, who is all about practicing, decided that we needed to have a dry run for the Mother’s Day breakfast. Saturdays are my day to spend with Hannah while my wife gets a ‘mommy morning’ off. My wife loves to cook, so we picked up a CuisinArt skillet at Sears and decided to try it out. We made a super simple Nutella Monkeybread Recipe. If you aren’t familiar with Monkeybread, the concept is simple and any dad could make it. Go to the store and buy some pre-made biscuits. Quarter them, roll them in butter, cinnamon and sugar and then we added Nutella. Bam, a delicious semi-homemade breakfast that my little one can help with and that my wife will love.
Mother’s Day is about moms. So make it special. Sears has a wonderful selection guys and if you aren’t a big shopper like me, you don’t even have to get out of your car. Try Sears.com, you’ll be impressed. Read more about their program here and let me know how you like the Monkeybread!
