I think everyone loves the classics. I really needed a simple classic oatmeal chocolate chip cookie on a cool spring day. Crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, I just needed a good classic recipe. Growing up in rural Kansas I remember going with my mom to the local grocery store. It was a place where people knew your name. They had great produce and quality ingredients that really made my mom’s oatmeal chocolate chip cookies amazing.
If you’re from Indianapolis you have no doubt shopped at Marsh. Quality produce, great low prices there are so many things to love about this store. I’m a pretty simple guy, I like simple things and honestly want to get in-and-out of the grocery store quickly. (Although my wife wouldn’t mind lingering!) I care about a few things: quality, price and service. As a food blogger I want to make sure I can get quality ingredients for recipes that translate into taste! Marsh delivers every single time.
So this past Sunday I was craving some classic Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies, I found a fantastic recipe on Marsh’s website. It promised perfection and I wanted a bite! I grabbed my keys, my four year old daughter, my Marsh Fresh Idea Card and off we went! If you aren’t familiar with Marsh’s shopper card, I highly recommend it! It provides so many benefits and savings, (including digital coupons!) as you can see from the photo below, I saved over $10 buying the Marsh brand and using the Fresh Idea Card!
I arrived at checkout and my cashier was so helpful. She wasn’t in a rush and even asked if I was making cookies because of the ingredients I was buying! I got home and Hannah, of course, wanted to ‘help.’ Now those of you with young children know that when you are baking cookies, ‘helping’ really involves measuring out flour, stirring and of course licking the spoon.
Hannah helped me roll the cookie dough into balls and put them on the cookie sheet. We put 12 minutes on the timer and when it rang, she came running to find me, ensuring she would not miss a warm cookie, right out of the oven! Marsh’s recipe section promised that these would be “Crispy edges and chewy middles make these the ultimate chocolate chip cookie. The addition of tasty oats makes them extra wholesome.” Just look at the pictures!! You can see those chewy middles, I know you wanna bite!
Head over to the Marsh Recipe Section to see the entire recipe, you won’t be disappointed! I included a few more pictures just to tease you! Trust me these are amazing and worth a try!
These cookies look and sound delicious! My mom had an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie she used to make when I was growing up, these remind me of baking cookies with her all those years ago:-) #client
