Thank you Purina for sponsoring this blog post. All ideas and opinions are always 100% my own. #BrightMind #CollectiveBias
I’ve had golden retrievers since I can remember. My parents still have Ruby and Roxy, a pair of golden’s they rescued over 12 years ago. I’ve always loved BIG dogs; the kinds that are loyal, that will cuddle when you’re down, and actually fetch something. Of course, even big dogs need to go through dog obedience training to learn how to behave properly. It may take time and effort, but the end result is definitely worth it.
Many of you have met Lily before, but here she is. Many years ago my wife and I rescued Lily working with GRRAND, a golden retriever rescue. Lily had a heart condition that required surgery and while we weren’t sure she was going to make it all those years ago, I can’t imagine life without her now.
Lily is now a seasoned citizen. At just over 7 years old, she’s still got the spunk of her youth, but after a long walk, or some intense play, she walks in, enjoys her water and then collapses. Her age is showing.
Lily happily accepted Hannah into our home 5 years ago and today, Hannah, Lily and I are headed to Petsmart to pick up some new food. Lily and Hannah love each other, they play fetch together, Hannah feeds Lily and if I’m not watching Hannah might give Lily the broccoli she doesn’t want to each.
I’ve told Hannah many times that, we as people, have to eat healthy foods. Sometimes as we age, we have to get even more health conscious. The same is true for our furry friends, be they rottweiler vs german shepherd. They need a proper diet rich in ingredients that are right for the golden years. I also recently found a helpful review on dog oral medications at sltrib.
Purina has the solution. We already are feed her Purina, but in Petsmart has the new ProPlan Bright Mind dog food. It’s designed to help dogs stay sharp. Whether it’s the quality ingredients, or the joint and mobility improvements, this food seems like a perfect fit for my aging puppy. He’ll live the perfect live along with new bed we found online. What a fun post! It looks like Lily (and Hannah!) really enjoyed their trip to PetSmart! We have two older pups in our house, so I’ll have to check out this food. Thanks! #client
