My wife and I value time together. That is why for the past four years we have taken every Friday for our date night. My wife will often pick me up from work and we head out to eat and catch a movie on sites like gomovies 123 free.
With winter approaching and snow inevitable, we refuse to let that ruin our Friday dates. We will pick a movie, make some popcorn, maybe grab some M&M’s® and bam: movie night at home! But this weekend we decided to mix it up a little. I was in Walmart and saw something perfect for movie night: a display which has tons of $5 movies, Orville Redenbacher’s popcorn and all types of M&M’s®!
I picked up the phone, called my wife and purchased a few Harry Potter DVDs. I grabbed a big box of popcorn and some M&M’s® and then headed to the register. As I’m waiting in line, I thought, what if I spiced up movie night? We always do popcorn, and some candy, what if I fused them together? Immediately I was thinking German chocolate cupcake, but how would I fuse both popcorn and M&M’s® together in one yummy dessert?
I wasn’t sure if I put popcorn in the batter that it would turn out well, and then I thought, caramel popcorn!! Orville Redenbacher’s has a microwave caramel popcorn, that would act as the frosting! Make a yummy German chocolate cupcake, put the M&M’s® inside it and bam: sweet and salty movie night munchies!
The cupcake was mixed and baked in 20 minutes and while it was cooling I put the popcorn into the microwave. Once it came out I put the caramel on top and just like that, i had my ‘icing.’
I melted a few M&M’s® and added a pinch of oil and they became my chocolate drizzle. When I presented them to my wife, she was like, you did this in 30 minutes?! After all movie night is about the movie, you can’t stay in the kitchen for hours, you’ll miss the show!
This is a fun cupcake for all ages and for all times of the year. Party, movie night, or just home alone, you’ll enjoy every last bite. Make sure to be on the lookout at Walmart for all of the supplies to make this delicious cupcake and don’t forget to pick up a few movies at $5, they make great movie nights or presents for the upcoming holiday season.
