Y’all…..it’s time to put up the treee!!! Squee! This time of year brings so much joy for me. I love trimming the tree, putting up decorations and listening to Christmas music all day, every day. I have a beautiful daughter that loves Christmas as much as I do and we milk it, squeezing every last bit of Christmas cheer out of the season until the New Year!
I am so in love with our house. We just bought (well 8 months ago) a nearly 100-year-old house. Seriously guys, this house is awesome. We have remodeled much of this house and the structure is strong. I have been so impressed with the level of workmanship that was done to build this house. But my favorite feature above all are the fireplaces. There is just something so cozy about the fireplace and Christmas music in the air, being all snuggled up in a blanket with a cup of hot cocoa in hand. Mmmmmmm…that is the recipe to a perfect evening.
We lived with my in-laws for a while so we had a couple of Christmas’ there and this year I am finally in my own space to begin entertaining holiday meals again. Everyone’s family has holiday meal traditions, but I do like to twist things up a bit and give them something at the table they weren’t quite expecting.
I do all of my holiday shopping at ALDI. It is my one stop shopping destination to get the food I need for my holiday dinners and I love the ALDI finds that allow me to decorate as well. I love watching the store transform into Christmas, and the arrival of the poinsettias and scented pine cones just add a little something extra to the shopping experience. Getting those and bringing them home adds that same warmth to my home.
I love that ALDI has all the ingredients I need to make an interesting and delicious meal! This time of year ALDI has many “ALDI FINDS” available for the holiday season. Specialty Selected brand products at ALDI are quality ingredients you will want to put on your table. ALDI truly is your one-stop shopping destination for all your Holiday shopping needs.
This year my something unexpected is Date Prosciutto Crescent Rolls. This idea was inspired by two of my dear friends that were married in December. Tiffany is a dear sweet friend from college. She is a fiery red head and has a bright spirit to match. She is one of those people that you just love to be around. Her heart is pure and genuine. She met the man who would become her husband in high school and they found their way back to each other after college. Evan is just as kind as she is. He can make the whole room laugh with just one look. They were married in a beautiful ceremony in the Smokies and at their reception I had for the first timeever bacon wrapped dates. I loved them so much. As I was remembering their special day I decided to “marry” two of my favorite holiday items, crescents and prosciutto.
I love the sweet and salty combination that the dates and prosciutto add to the crescents. Adding those two things to the crescent rolls really elevates the crescents from being delicious rolls to a stand-alone side dish or appetizer.
The prosciutto di Parma really is the part that brings this side dish all together. This is also so simple to make, and all the ingredients you need available at ALDI, this dish will also be easy on your budget but won’t lack any of the wow factor! Head over to your local ALDI and get the ingredients to make these ASAP!
