If you have followed us for a while you know that we bought an almost 100 year old house this past year. I do believe there was a time in which I verbally, out loud said, I will never buy a house that old. Boy have I eaten those words and you know what, I have never regretted it. When you find a home that was well built, and maintained you really come to realize how much of a treasure it is. They just don’t build them as strong and sturdy now as they did back then. As you can imagine there are challenges that come with buying a house that old. There are obvious updates that need to happen. For us that was a myriad of things, wiring, adding fire alarms and carbon monoxide detectors, and updating the bathroom that was very obviously redone sometime in the 50’s.
We knew coming into the house that we were going to be living through some renovations, and that in order to use the bathroom we would have to use the one down stairs and shower in our basement. This bathroom needed to be replaced badly. The tile was cracked, there was an old sink, the toilet didn’t work, and the floor was not in good shape. The shower and tub combo had very little head room that even I, a just-barely-over-5ft.-woman, would have trouble showering in there. From the moment we signed, we began to rip out that bathroom and we never used it.
What this did though was effectively give us a clean slate. I knew I wanted to completely update and reorient the configuration of the bathroom. I wanted to bring our home into 2017. One of my requirements was putting the laundry upstairs. Best. Decision. Ever. The other requirement that was a must have was being able to listen to my music while in the shower. I am a musician. I have been singing since I can remember and I have a fancy music degree. So listening to music while in the shower either for practice or for pleasure is imperative. Imagine lounging in your tub and putting on your favorite music and just relaxing. Sounds like a dream right? Well I am here to tell you that dream can easily be a reality and it’s called the Sensonic Vent Fan by Broan. Along with opting for this technology, you can also download music which you can play while having a soothing bath.
The Sensonic Vent Fan is a wonderful bathroom fan that provides ultra-quiet ventilation, but it also has a built-in Bluetooth speaker. Ever tried to turn the volume up all the way on your phone while you are in the shower? It’s never loud enough with the sound of the shower. That issue goes away with the Sensonic. You hear whatever you’re listening to crystal clear and with amazing sound quality. It has dual high-fidelity speakers that are hidden behind the grill of the fan. This Bluetooth speaker is amazing and doesn’t take up counter space! I could not be happier with the quality of the product, its ventilation, and quality of the sound that I get out of it. You can learn more about the Sensonic here.
We love our Sensonic Vent Fan by Broan and I would absolutely encourage you to check it out and get one for your bathroom!
