I’m southern boy. However, my family roots trace back to Germany. It turns out, a lot of the family dishes I grew up with, dishes passed down from generation to generation, have German roots, too. But as a kid, I had no idea. They were just family recipes.
As I became better versed in international cuisine, however, I realized my German heritage had lived on in my family’s culinary traditions, albeit with a distinctly Southern twist.

Thank you for sharing this recipe. My mother used to make cabbage rolls like this in the past and haven’t had it in a few years. I am considering trying to make this myself soon, but my mom may have to make it when I come up for Thanksgiving.
Mmmmm my taste buds are tingling. Haha! But seriously thank you for sharing, this looks so good and I really hope I can make this soon. Thanks for the link to the recipe.
Seriously, you’s at Wannabite share some of the best recipes around. I wish I was as good as a cook as you’s, I’d probably have my own food blog by now. 😀
Congrats on getting on that site, can’t wait to use the recipe to make this soon. 🙂
Anyways I never had cabbage, I know weird, but it does look really good. Again, thanks for the recipe and congrats on getting on Laura’s Lean Beef site, that’s pretty cool.
This is a wonderful German meal. My mother is full German and she has made meals similar to this. I haven’t had it in years since I moved to another state and don’t see my mother often anymore. So this should be fun to make.
